NDE Helper (Nights)
POSITION SUMMARY
An NDE Helper’s main function is to learn all aspects of inspection services from a technician. They perform
equipment setup and calibrations and make evaluations under the direction of a certified NDE technician for the
applicable NDE being performed or trained for.

Essential Functions Statement(s)
• Assist with nondestructive testing equipment setup.
• Assist in calibrating nondestructive testing equipment.
• Assist in applying testing criteria in accordance with procedures and standards.
• Assist in preforming other job-related tasks as assigned by certified inspector/technician.
• Ensure compliance with safety and environment guidelines, policies, and regulations.
• Record results of tests and inspection under direct supervision from the training NDE Technician.
• Measure dimensions of defects to verify conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such
as rulers, calipers, gauges, or micrometers under direct supervision of training NDE Technician.
• Notify supervisors or other personnel of production or quality problems.
• Write test or inspection reports describing results, recommendations, or needed repairs under direct
supervision of training NDE Technician.
• Compare colors, shapes, textures, or grades of products or materials with color charts, templates, or
samples to verify conformance to standards under direct supervision of training NDE Technician.
• Position products, components, or parts for testing.
• Stack or arrange tested products for further processing, shipping, or packaging.
• Adjust, clean, or repair products or processing equipment to correct defects found during inspections.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
