Clerk - Material Control

POSITION SUMMARY

Clerical position consisting of data entry, verifying accuracy of paperwork on items delivered, addressing issues immediately with vendor and/or internal department managers, assisting material yard foremen with issues pertaining to deliveries, maintain filing system, copying, scanning

Essential Functions Statements

  • Examine shipment contents and compare with purchase orders. 
  • Receive material into receipt routing. 
  • Label received materials with barcodes. 
  • Process MTR's (scan, file, etc.). 
  • Store or re-route material as needed. 
  • Maintain documentation to show all yard/job row locations. 
  • Maintain filing system. 
  • Confer or correspond with establishment representatives to rectify problems, such as damages, shortages, or nonconformance to specifications. 
  • Assist yard supervisors/foremen with tasks as needed. 
  • Input material receipts into JDE system

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education:          High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED); Required

Experience:        2-3 years of experience in pipe fabrication field

Computer Skills:              Experience with Microsoft Office and JDEdwards

Other Requirements:    Knowledge of piping materials (visual & descriptions)
