We are looking for a detail-oriented and experienced Cost Control Engineer to join our team and manage cost control for our projects.

Job Summary: The Cost Control Engineer will be responsible for managing and overseeing the financial aspects of pipe spool fabrication projects. This includes budgeting, cost estimating, financial reporting, and cost forecasting to ensure that projects remain within budget and financial objectives are met.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Cost Estimation and Budgeting:
    • Develop accurate cost estimates for pipe spool fabrication projects based on project specifications and scope.
    • Prepare detailed budgets, including labor, materials, and overhead costs.
    • Review and update budgets as necessary based on changes in project scope or cost factors.
  2. Cost Monitoring and Control:
    • Track and analyze project expenditures to ensure adherence to budgets.
    • Implement cost control measures and recommend adjustments to optimize financial performance.
    • Identify and investigate cost variances and provide corrective actions to address discrepancies.
  3. Financial Reporting:
    • Prepare and present regular financial reports, including cost summaries, forecasts, and variance analyses.
    • Provide financial insights and recommendations to project managers and senior management.
    • Ensure timely and accurate submission of financial data and reports.
  4. Change Management:
    • Evaluate the financial impact of change orders and scope adjustments.
    • Work with project managers to assess the cost implications of design changes and project modifications.
    • Update cost estimates and budgets to reflect approved changes.
  5. Cost Forecasting and Analysis:
    • Develop and maintain cost forecasts and financial projections for ongoing and upcoming projects.
    • Analyze project cost trends and provide recommendations for cost-saving measures.
    • Conduct post-project financial reviews to evaluate budget performance and identify lessons learned.
  6. Procurement and Contract Management:
    • Collaborate with procurement teams to evaluate and negotiate contracts with suppliers and subcontractors.
    • Monitor and manage subcontractor and supplier costs to ensure compliance with contract terms.
    • Review and approve cost-related documents, including invoices and payment applications.
  7. Compliance and Documentation:
    • Ensure compliance with company policies, industry standards, and regulatory requirements related to cost control.
    • Maintain accurate and organized cost control documentation and records.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with Strong Experience in Cost Control.
  • 10 years of experience in cost control, financial management, or a similar role within the pipe spool fabrication or construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of cost control principles, budgeting, and financial analysis.
  • Proficiency in cost control software and tools. Microsoft Excel proficiency is a must (e.g., MS Excel, SAP, Primavera).
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Professional certifications related to cost control (e.g., Certified Cost Engineer (CCE)) are a plus.
