We are seeking an experienced and hands-on Environmental, Health, & Safety (EHS) Manager to support designated locations and drive our culture of safety, compliance, and operational excellence. This role is ideal for a proactive safety leader who thrives in a manufacturing-based environment, partnering closely with operations to improve safety performance and reduce risk.
About the Role
The EHS Manager directly supervises the Safety Specialist and provides leadership across assigned sites, conducting audits, inspections, training, and incident investigations. This position is responsible for planning, implementing, and managing company-wide EHS programs, ensuring compliance with OSHA and relevant federal, state, and local regulations.
This is a high-impact role that requires strong communication skills, the ability to influence at all levels, and a commitment to fostering a positive safety culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead, develop, and continuously improve safety programs across multiple sites.
- Conduct regular safety audits, inspections, vehicle inspections, and hazard assessments.
- Investigate workplace incidents and near-misses; conduct root cause analysis and implement corrective actions.
- Deliver engaging EHS training to employees, managers, and site leaders.
- Monitor compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations; identify and close performance gaps.
- Maintain accurate records, safety logs, and incident documentation.
- Analyze incident trends and safety performance metrics to drive improvement.
- Collaborate with leadership to ensure regulatory compliance for operations, projects, and facilities.
- Serve as a liaison with emergency response teams, fire departments, and medical professionals.
- Supervise and support Safety staff, creating a culture of accountability and high performance.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Associate degree preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in EHS or a related safety leadership role.
- Experience in multi-site EHS management strongly preferred.
Skills & Competencies
- Strong knowledge of OSHA and environmental regulations.
- Excellent communication, investigation, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently, travel to sites, and lead safety initiatives.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; knowledge of EHS compliance/reporting systems is a plus.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage competing priorities.
Certifications (Preferred)
- OSHA 30
- First Aid/CPR/AED
- HAZWOPER or similar safety certification
- Valid driver’s license and ability to travel up to 30%
